Meet Wilder + Sage Ayurveda

Wilder + Sage Ayurveda was inspired by my children Forrest Wylder and Juniper Sage. It was after Forrest was born that the universe told me in many ways that it was time to become a practitioner, and I began my studies at Ayurved Sadhana, while working a full-time job as a new mom. A few months after starting school, I became pregnant with Juniper and later trained to be an Ayurvedic Doula Practitioner.

My practice was born out of the need to nourish myself during and after pregnancy. I grew up in a family where self care was not modeled. I learned to be small and go unnoticed and have been trying to shed these limiting beliefs about my worth for decades. My desire is to help others be in alignment with their true creative nature — to be whole, healthy, and vital, supporting them to be attuned to the work they were put on this planet to do. And when it seems like the world is falling apart, they understand how to take care of themselves. I believe a way to change the world is to offer proper postpartum care, creating a world where the collective is cared for, healing generational trauma, and forming secure attachments with their children — with children that have been modeled proper self care.

I work with clients in and around Boulder, CO in person or work with anyone virtually. I offer Ayurvedic consults, postpartum care (the sacred window), bodywork (abyangha, shirodhara, marma therapy, reiki), Ayurvedic food drop off, and mini cleanses. We partner and build a relationship for months at a time, as change takes time. Wilder + Sage Ayurveda’s mission is to provide the tools, training, and herbal allies in a contained relationship for clients to create daily practices for lasting health that are simple, yet multifaceted. I create space for people to turn practice into habits, and habits into sustaining and revered rituals. You develop an understanding of your innate nature and part in this ecosystem.

About me…

Oh, hey! I’m Cara.

She/her/hers. On paper, I am an Ayurvedic Doctor, Bodyworker, Ayurvedic Doula, Chemical (Food) Engineer and Certified Plant-Based Chef. I am a working mama at a huge food company making delicious foods and better choices for the planet in products you’ve likely seen in your local grocery. Acts of Service is my love language and I show it through the food I create. I lived in several ashrams for nearly 2 years in India and taught yoga. I have done Ayurvedic bodywork in India, Turkey, NYC, and CO.

01 - I am an enneagram 7w6 and have found myself interested in many, many things which has led to to lots of seemingly unrelated trainings, to add to my toolbox, and blend them all into the way I work with people. For example, I am a personality typing junkie because that is one useful lens to gain more insight in every aspect of my life and to better serve my clients.

02 - I spend my days rediscovering my childhood through my two adorable toddlers (Forrest and Juniper) and playing in the mountains or in the water with my partner. I dream of us building a home and healing homestead, where we grow most of our food and make wild crafted medicines and where friends will come to reset. I dream of us traveling and living in an ashram praying and chanting in community (my partner and I both have traveled extensively before kids and lived in ashrams and have always been drawn to satsanga). I dream of a world where women are properly cared for and therefore their children start their journey on a solid ground, securely attached, and without fear.

03 - Like most healers, I was drawn to this work to heal myself and to seek the reason for my own personal suffering. When I became pregnant, I knew it was time to do some real healing to ensure that I didn’t pass any additional trauma to my children (although I am sure I still will). I know in my bones that if we work together, there is a reason for us to learn from one another.
